Per-game settings
Open a game in Superposer, then Settings:
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Performance preset | Quality, Balanced, Battery or Custom; see Performance presets |
| Translation layer | Automatic (D3DMetal for 64-bit games, otherwise DXMT), D3DMetal, DXMT, DXVK (experimental), wined3d |
| Game resolution | Render below your display's resolution and let Superposer upscale |
| Display mode | Fullscreen, or a resizable Mac window |
| Upscaler | MetalFX, bilinear, nearest (sharp pixels), integer, or off |
| Frame rate limit | Caps how fast the game draws |
| Frame generation | Off by default; see Frame generation |
| Performance overlay | The Performance HUD from the start |
| In-game tools | Superposer's overlay, hotkeys and controller hold in this game |
| Runtime and D3DMetal version | Latest / Default, or keep the game on another installed version; each shows the game's last test on it |
| Compatibility | DLSS → MetalFX, Advertise AVX, MSync, High-resolution mode, Apple's Metal HUD |
| Advanced | Environment variables for special fixes |
Each value says whether it's the Default, Superposer's Recommended value for that game, or Your setting. Changes apply the next time the game starts; Reset All to Recommended… undoes yours.
If a game has its own DLSS, FSR or XeSS, set the resolution and upscaler inside the game; Superposer then doesn't scale on top.
A game with both a Mac and a Windows version shows which one runs. Use the Windows Version Instead… is for Mac ports that run worse; Switch Back to the Mac Version… undoes it. Steam must be closed for either, and saves may not carry over between the two versions.
