Superposer Beta Terms
Version 2026-10-10 · Last updated: 2026-10-10
These terms are between you and Kenneth Lewis, an individual, trading as Superposer ("we", "us"), and apply to the Superposer beta ("the Beta"): the pre-release builds, the beta download page and the services behind them. They are in addition to the End User Licence Agreement, which also applies to the Beta software. If the two conflict about the Beta, these terms win for the Beta.
1. Who can join
You must be 18 or older and able to enter a binding agreement. By ticking "I agree to the Superposer Beta Terms" when you join the waitlist or open your invite, and by using the Beta, you agree to these terms. We record the version you accepted and the time. If you don't agree, don't join and don't use the Beta.
2. The Beta is unfinished
The Beta is free, may break, change or stop at any time, and is provided as is. Don't rely on it for anything important. Back up your own files. Invites are personal: don't share your invite link or download. We may pause or end your access, for example if an invite is passed around or these terms are broken. You can stop at any time by uninstalling and writing to us (section 6).
3. Automatic compatibility reports are a condition of the Beta
The point of the Beta is to learn which games run on which Macs. Taking part therefore means the Beta app sends us compatibility reports automatically. This is not optional and is not a separate consent: if you don't want reports sent, don't take part in the Beta. We tell you this up front, here, on the sign-up and invite pages, and in the app under Settings › What Superposer reports, where you can also see what is waiting to be sent.
Exactly what a report contains:
| Field | Example |
|---|---|
| Steam app ID of the game | 1145360 |
| The result of Superposer's in-app test of that game | passed / failed |
| How a play session ended | ran at least 5 minutes without a crash / crashed |
| Your one-tap answer, only if you give one, to "Did it work for you?" (shown after a session of at least 10 minutes; never required) | Yes / With issues / No |
| Superposer runtime version | 26.3.0-52 |
| macOS version | 26.0 |
| Mac chip family | M4 Max |
Each report is sent with your beta sign-in, which identifies you to us only as a random user ID (a UUID) we created for you. Reports do not contain your email address, name, game titles, playtime totals, screenshots, logs, file paths, Steam ID, serial number, or IP address. (Like any web server, our host sees your IP address in transit; we don't store it with reports.) Reports are sent in small batches when the app checks for updates, and wait on your Mac while you are offline.
4. What we do with reports
- We use them to work out which games run well on which runtime and Mac, to fix problems, and to publish aggregate results (counts and percentages per game and runtime, never tied to a person).
- We do not sell your data and do not share it for advertising.
- The legal basis is that it is necessary for running the Beta you asked to join and our legitimate interest in improving the product. It is not based on consent, so you cannot withdraw it while taking part; you can leave (section 6).
- Raw reports are kept for 12 months and then deleted. Aggregates, which contain no personal data, are kept.
- Your waitlist details (name, email, Mac and games you gave us) are used only to run the Beta and contact you about it.
- Details, your rights and our providers are in the Privacy Policy, section 4d.
5. Feedback
If you send us feedback or bug reports, we may use them to improve Superposer without owing you anything, but we won't publish your name or email without asking.
6. Leaving, and deleting your data
You can leave at any time: uninstall Superposer and write to [email protected] saying you are leaving. When you leave we delete your raw reports and your waitlist and account details within 30 days. Aggregates that no longer identify anyone stay. We may also remove you from the Beta, and then do the same.
7. Liability
Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law (for example for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud). Otherwise, because the Beta is free and unfinished, we are not liable for lost data, lost games or saves, or indirect losses, and our total liability to you for the Beta is limited to EUR 100.
8. Changes and law
We may change these terms; if a change is material we'll show you the new version and ask you to accept it again at your next sign-in. If you are a consumer you keep the mandatory protections of the country where you live.
